1957 Chrysler

Problem Solved

The search for the cause of noisy lifters and rough running led us to the point
where it was time to disassemble the engine. I decided to turn the project over to an expert.

Meet Johnnie Slayton. Johnnie runs JGS Restorations in Akron, Ohio and knows Chryslers by heart. Johnnie took the car to his shop and in sort order, found a plug missing from the oil gallery that supplies the lifters. The missing plug allowed the driver's side gallery to receive insufficient oil and the lifters on this side had trouble pumping up. This is what the adjustable push rods were telling me as well. With the gallery plug replaced, the 354 was once again the engine it should be.
