On the heater control
switches for AC cars, the original switches are different than those
available today. New switches will have to be wired differently for the
fan control section.
The AC clutch wires use the center two spades and is not of any concern -- you can't mess those up. On the fan
control section, there are 3 terminals for two wires. For these, the right most (vertical) is the
feed. The next left is a horizontal spade and plugs with the fan wire.
The next left (vertical) is not used. If by mistake you do use the left vertical spade,
there will be no fan motor at DEF or HEAT.
Here is a table for 3 of the new switches available. Part number 3895033 is the best one. 3895790 is OK except the AC clutch is on in the HEAT mode. 3502126 has the AC clutch on with the control button in the OFF position as well as no fan motor in DEF or Heat; forget using that one.
Either check your new switch for fan and clutch in all control modes before you install to verify it has the connections you want, or have your original switch rebuilt by John Grady.

The other thing we learned is if by chance the high speed wire is disconnected from the push pull blower speed switch, you will get low and medium fan but on HIGH, the fan will run on low.
