In January of 2018 I received this email:
Hello Bob,
My name is Italo Pieri. Someone I know ran across your site and pointed out to me that you own a Chrysler that once belonged to my father. He was the original owner of the 1965 Blue Chrysler 300 L.
It brought back a lot of good memories when I saw the webpage. My father owned an Italian delicatessen in the Southeast side of Portland Oregon. Our family immigrated to Oregon in 1947 from Lucca, Italy and started a successful grocery business. In those days Italian foods were not well known especially in the Northwest part of the country. My father fell in love with this country and all things American especially the automobiles. I remember driving it when I would come home from college. I also remember getting my first ticket while driving to the coast.
In those days the beach front was not developed and we would go on the sand and do wheelies.
I can't believe it's still in existence, what a pleasant surprise.
I live in Chicago with my wife and two teenage children they are ecstatic and want to know more about Nonno Loris' car. If I ever find photos of the car I'd be happy to share them with you.
Thanks for taking such good care of the car my father would be very happy.
Best regards,
Italo Pieri
