The Build Sheet
The "build sheet" - - that all-important piece of paper that documents the authenticity of your car.
The build sheet was also known as the 'broadcast sheet' and was used to specify such things as body color, interior color, trim level, and optional equipment. If you are lucky enough to have the build sheet for your car, you have a significant piece of documentation for your car.
To find your build sheet will not be easy since Chrysler placed the build sheet in different places in different years. For instance, in 1959, it was taped to the back of the glove box. High and dry in that location, the 1959 build sheets survived well. 1962 was a different story -- it appears the build sheet was tossed in the drivers foot well before the carpet was installed. Sandwiched in this high traffic area which was often wet from rain or snow from the drivers shoes, the 1962 build sheet was usually destroyed from rot and rust.
The following build sheet is from the 1965 model year. Chrysler placed the 1965 build sheets in the upper section of the rear seat, between the foam and the springs. You have to remove the upper section of the rear seat to find it but build sheets from 1965 generally survived well.
The dark circles you see are from the seat springs.

From this build sheet, you can determine that this car was built without power windows, and with a power drivers side seat. The passenger side seat was manual and the car came with a radio and heater. Some of the information found on the build sheet is repeated on the data tag, of which a sample is presented at ldatatag.html.
The build sheet is not the complete story. It is possible that errors occured on the production line and the car was not built to the build sheet specifications......there may have been shortages of parts or perhaps the build specification was over-looked.
It is also possible that your car has options not specified on the build sheet since the dealer may have installed the options. And it is possible that the build sheet you find in your car doesn't even belong to your car --- Chrysler put the build sheet in the car when the assembly workers didn't need it any longer. Some workers threw them away, some workers may have tossed any build sheet or several build sheets into the same car, and so on.
