In October of 2022, Chrysler announced the 2023 300C would be the last of the line. Only 2,000 cars would be available for reservation (plus 200 for Canada). Reservations were on a "first come first served" basis so I went to the local dealer on October 19th. They hadn't heard about the 300C but found the order page on the computer.
We figured out how to place the order half expecting it would be denied. To our suprise the order was acknowledged on November 7th. It would be the only order for a 300C this dealer would place before reservations closed. Then we waited. Chrysler said the 300C would be spring 2023 production. Well, it was June of 2023 and
I saw other 300Cs had been delivered to dealers across the US but no word on this one. The weeks went by and it was late August. No word. Then the UAW went on strike in September and stayed out for 6 weeks. It was now so late in the year I expected the order to be cancelled. Then the notice; the car had been built on October 12th. It arrived on the 26th and was ready for pick up October 30th, more than a year after my order.
There were no options available on the 300C beyond choosing between black, white, and velvet red.
The engine is the 6.4L V8 with 485 horsepower. It has the 8 speed automatic transmission with 0 - 60 MPH in something like 4.5 seconds. There is a 160 MPH speedometer although it won't see speeds like that from me.
Although I had intended to keep this car and add it to the collection, it was sold in March of 2024......too many cars in the garage and something had to go.
