1962 Chrysler 300H

The Caramel H

This is VIN 8423189742, built 03/06/62. It came from Dave Totten's estate auction in 1993. Reassembly is under way after being painted in 1995.
435 H coupes were built. Estimates say survivors are somewhere in the 161 to 179 range.
Ah yes, the crooked "H". This is the original "H" in its original position. This is how this car left the factory so this is how we will leave it.
This is the only 62 Chrysler coupe I have seen with this style of quarter window belt molding. Note how the short molding fits under the rear window trim.
These are the pieces of this trim from the passenger side. The left piece fits inside the right and the two telescope to fit.
This is the 'normal' style of quarter window trim.
And here is the answer. This is page 23-86 from the 1962 parts book. Item 27 is the trim in question.
The parts book page shows for item 27, the "quarter panel belt" two listings: 1 piece type, and 2 piece type. Mystery solved.
